I have removed it at your request. For what it's worth I thought you were quite lovely and that in the photo your expression depicted the calm fortitude of the pioneer woman.

My apologies.

Randy

Comment on Oh My...

Dear Mr. Warren, I am flattered that you would photograph me, but it is a horrible picture and I am extremely embarassed for anyone to see it. If you would please remove it I would be so greatful. It got its name by the call it makes supposedly sounding like the words "kill deer". It's habitat has modified to grassy lawns and they are susceptible to pesticides and weed killer.

Comment on ??Ringed Neck Bird Of Some Kind??

The Zen Birdfeeder says this is a Killdeer. I lived at Fort Sill from 1957-1964, so I consider that where I grew up. We went to the Witchita Wildlife Refuge often and Mount Scott. Now I live where there are "real" mountains, but I still miss being a kid in Oklahoma. We had so many "pets", including horned toads, tadpoles, baby frogs, baby birds that fell (or were knocked) from the nest, lightening bugs in a jar. I still remember the smell from squishing them and smearing them on us in an attempt to be flourescent. I don't miss chiggers, though! haha. Nice photos.

</rdf:RDF>
