I lived at Fort Sill from 1957-1964, so I consider that where I grew up. We went to the Witchita Wildlife Refuge often and Mount Scott. Now I live where there are "real" mountains, but I still miss being a kid in Oklahoma. We had so many "pets", including horned toads, tadpoles, baby frogs, baby birds that fell (or were knocked) from the nest, lightening bugs in a jar. I still remember the smell from squishing them and smearing them on us in an attempt to be flourescent. I don't miss chiggers, though! haha. Nice photos.

Comment on Good Food And Better Conversation

I wish you had been able to be there.
